That’s a wrap! RLRH’s Professional Development Series concludes for 2026

From 20 July to 13 August 2026, the Refugee-Led Research Hub’s (RLRH) Professional Pathways Pillar hosted a five-part workshop series titled “Translating Strengths into Professional Pathways.”

Designed for RLRH affiliates interested in exploring their professional identity, the series guided 20 participants through structured career roadmapping, practical exercises, and strategies to translate their skills and experiences into compelling application materials.

The interactive sessions were led by specialists across the sector, including:

  • Nadia Asmal, Education Consultant, UNHCR Denmark
  • Emmanuel Ushindi, Professional Coach and Data Analyst, IRC USA
  • Ruth Nyabuto, Academic Partnerships and Outreach Specialist, RLRH Kenya

Throughout the series, participants engaged in guided reflections to articulate their core strengths and align their past experiences with their future career trajectory.

What participants said:

“Sessions on creating an effective CV and cover letter helped me understand how to tailor my professional materials for specific job descriptions. I learned how to highlight relevant skills and experience, use clear and professional language, and present my achievements in a way that better matches the requirements of a position. This has increased my confidence when preparing and submitting job applications.”

— Dorine Brown, workshop participant

This was the second set of workshops in the Professional Development Series, which runs annually. RLRH will continue offering this training from June to August 2027. For those interested in joining, details will be circulated in RLRH’s Community Newsletter closer to the time.
