This country report examines refugee-led organisations (RLOs) in Tanzania, focusing on community perceptions in Dar es Salaam and Nyarugusu Refugee Camp. It explores the nature and scope of RLOs in Tanzania, profiles of RLO leaders, their motivations, partnerships with aid organisations, and the impact of RLOs on communities. The study was led by Uwezo Ramazani, a former refugee from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and forms part of a wider regional study supported by the Local Engagement Refugee Research Network (LERRN) at Carleton University and the Refugee-Led Research Hub (RLRH) at the University of Oxford.
